Marilyn Matrix

Marilyn Matrix is a Melbourne-based DJ with a rich background in the performing arts.

Raised in the unconventional household of a visual artist and a writer/musician, music was the heartbeat of her upbringing. Marilyn trained for many years as a dancer and singer, and spent her teenage years writing and playing in a grunge band, experimenting with a range of instruments that gave her an ability to blend
such diverse genres and her deep understanding of rhythm. Marilyn's biggest inspiration stems from years of living and raving in Berlin, where she immersed herself in the unparalleled club culture helping her cultivate a refined and sophisticated taste in dance music.

Drawing from the 90s and early 00s rave scene and a taste for the dark side, Marilyn blends hypnotic and deep sounds of techno, garage, acid, house, minimal, hardgroove, and trance. Her sets create journeys that are groovy, driving, and full of surprises. She has supported international artists such as Victor Ruiz, Oliver Huntemann, SLAM, Juliet Fox, Wehbba, Kolombo, Steve Bug, and Hannah Laing.

Marilyn Matrix can be found playing at renowned venues like Revolver Upstairs, New Guernica, One Six One, Storyville, My Aeon, Brown Alley, and Killing Time. The list keeps growing in 2025 and she can’t wait to explore what the year has to offer.
